Oil
Oil painting was something I started after I finished school. Oils are much thicker and can be a little harder to blend. But it forces you to be more creative with the colours and textures you want to create. Things such as leaves and water can be best shown with oils by using a splotchy technique. Oil tubes are surprisingly economical however, and although oil takes ages to dry, the rate of drying can be handy if you accidentally put too much paint on your palette and don't use it straight away.
